Nitric acid is a strong inorganic acid with strong oxidizing and corrosive properties. Nitric acid is an important chemical raw material with the chemical formula HNO3. Its aqueous solution is commonly known as nitric acid water or ammonia nitrogen water. It can be used in industry to produce fertilizers, pesticides, explosives, dyes, etc; In organic chemistry, a mixture of concentrated nitric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid is an important nitration reagent.
Storage method
Nitric acid should be stored by itself, if possible. If not, it should be stored only with compatible oxidizing acids. Storage locations should be located away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Storage location should be plastic corrosive storage cabinets or metal cabinets coated with anti-corrosion liner.
Protective measures
Wear protective gloves, eye protection, face masks and clothing when handling nitric acid. Proper ventilation should be installed in the workplace to eliminate potential fumes from nitric acid exposure. Use airtight containers for storing nitric acid and ensure that the area of use is properly identified and labeled.
