Product Description

Hydrogen peroxide and multipurpose solutions are used to clean and disinfect contact lenses (contacts). Both help to break up and remove trapped dirt, protein, and fatty deposits (lipids). Hydrogen peroxide solutions are generally preservative-free. This may be a better choice for people who are allergic or sensitive to the preservatives found in multipurpose solutions. However, hydrogen peroxide solutions are not risk-free and should be used according to the product labeling.

Storage And Handling

Store hydrogen peroxide in the original vented container, upright, in a cool, ventilated area where it is protected from damage, or in bulk storage tanks made from approved materials of construction. Do not store other chemicals, fuels, or combustible materials near hydrogen peroxide.

Protective measures

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is colorless liquid with a similar chemical formula to water (H2O). The extra oxygen molecule — from which hydrogen peroxide gets its name, as it features one hydrogen per oxygen — represents the main difference between the formulas.
